Scripture: Colossians 3:20-21; Ephesians 6:1-4
Scripture Memory: Psalm 9:1-2
1 I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
Journey: The relationships between children and parents can often be as demanding and as difficult as the relationship between husbands and wives. Of course, those relationships are also a great source of blessing in life but in order for that to be true there needs to be wisdom, love and grace in a family. Today in our Journey in the Word we will be hoping to set clear (1) why children should obey and honor their parents and (2) how parents (especially fathers) can take their role as “disciple makers” seriously.
Hoping for our homes to grow in goodness,
Will (for the pastors)
Scripture: Ephesians 5:21-33
Scripture Memory: Psalm 1:1-3
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
Journey: Today is our last day (really, it is!) of focusing on the theme of marriage and we’re returning to Ephesians 5 to carefully consider the difficult but critical subjects of submission and Christ-like love in the context of marriage.
One Statement and Two Questions: If we named the title of today’s message “Radically Submissive Wives, Loving Husbands, Happy Homes” we would be very close to summarizing what the Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 5 about marriage. How does that make you feel? Why?
Glad to pursue His blessing on our marriages with you,
Will (for the pastors)

Scripture: Ephesians 5:21-33
Scripture Memory: Mark:34-35
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”
